Today, we celebrated European Day of Languages. We welcomed 17 parents (and our Chair of Governors) into school to share their expertise with us. Children loved listening to stories, singing songs and learning vocabulary in languages including French, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Dari and Icelandic, to name just a few! The children also spent time in their classes reflecting on the benefits of language learning, making collages inspired by European capital cities and learning about different cultures across Europe. We even learnt some British Sign Language with Father Barnaby in worship! We are so incredibly lucky at St. Margaret’s – the diversity of languages spoken by our pupils is staggering and we loved celebrating this in school this week
