Sustainability

We are the St. Margaret’s Green Team, a group of Key Stage Two children who have been elected to represent our classes because of how passionate we are about the environment. We work hard to make our school as environmentally-friendly as possible.
Over the last few years, the Green Team has:
· helped St. Margaret’s to achieve the Climate Friendly Schools Award
· introduced crisp packet and snack wrapper recycling bins
· produced and distributed a list of local recycling points
· helped to run multiple second-hand uniform sales
· organised and run annual second-hand Christmas jumper sales
· taken part in the Eat Smart project, reducing food waste in our school by 14%!
· assisted with the REfUSE stall at the Neville’s Cross Eco-Fest – raising awareness about food waste
· and much more!
Green Team News!
The Green Team have been very busy this half-term! First, we presented in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two worships: reminding children about the recycling points we have at school, advertising our weekly litter-picking group and giving advice to help us reduce food waste. Next, we organised and ran our annual pre-loved Christmas jumper sale, where we raised £44.60 for the Friends of St. Margaret’s. Finally, we carried out a survey on our current dinner menu, seeking information to help us continue in our efforts to reduce food waste at dinner time.
Climate Action Plan
St. Margaret’s has an annual Climate Action Plan. Please see the current plan below.
