Training to Teach

Teacher Training at St. Margaret’s

Are you interested in becoming a primary school teacher?

Applications are currently being taken for our ‘Teacher training In Schools’ PGCE course, beginning in September 2024. Applications are now made via the DfE Apply ( ) but will close on Friday 12th July with all interviews to be completed by Thursday 18th July.

We have been offered places to train the teachers of the future, based at our school and our partner schools (Neville’s Cross Primary, St. Oswalds CE Primary, Shincliffe CE Primary, St Godrics RC Primary, St Bede’s Primary School and St Bede’s RC Primary School, Sacriston)

If you currently have a degree (or are due to complete your degree this year) and are interested in this one year, school centered, teacher training programme, please see the additional information documents below, or contact Mrs. Amy Bell directly at school on 0191 384 7331. We are always keen to welcome you to school for a chat about what our partnership can offer before you make your final UCAS application.
